The 1891 homestead represents a classic example of pioneer architecture. Additions fade to the rear allowing the streetscape to remain virtually unchanged. Both the kitchen and master bathroom feature handcrafted boveda ceilings with cupolas. Timber frame construction is showcased in the breakfast, family room and master suite. A guest suite shares a bath, accessible from the pool.
The foyer, ranch office, formal dining and butler's pantry occupy the first floor of the original "Rock House". A traditional stairway leads to second-floor bedrooms and a state-of-art home theater. Antique pine, pressed tin ceilings, hand-painted stenciling and salvaged light fixtures give the project a period feel. The original front porch was rebuilt to exact specifications.
Electronic systems are hidden throughout the home to provide wireless access to entertainment and security systems; including sound piped from an 1891 Steinway baby-grand piano.
An outdoor kitchen provides a place to gather for alfresco dining that is warmed by an open-air fireplace adjacent to the pool and spa surrounded by native landscape.
